What is included in my ticket price?
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased online or over the phone in advance. We try to accommodate bookings up to 11:00 am on the day of the tour if seats are available. However, it is best to book in advance. Tickets can be purchased with Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
How much food is served on the tours?
We make several stops for food and beverage tastings on our tours. The exact number depends on which tour you are taking. For most people, there is enough food and beverage tastings that they feel they had had a full meal. You should come hungry.
How much walking is involved?
The tours are 2.5 hours in length but we sit down at a few venues on each tour. We walk at a very casual pace and the tour runs for 5-6 city blocks. The streets are flat and easy to walk. We like to think of it as a leisurely stroll with food and interesting conversations and stories.
What if I have food allergies, dietary needs or restrictions?
We can offer vegetarian options on the Little Italy & Gastown food tours and gluten-free options on our Gastown food tour only. Non-alcoholic options are available on all the tours. Any special requests must be made at the time of booking. We cannot accept special requests on the day of the tour. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any other special dietary restrictions. Please note that our tour tastings may include products that contain gluten, dairy, seafood, eggs, nuts and other allergens. If you have dietary restrictions that limit you from eating these foods, joining a tour may not be suitable for you as we cannot provide substitute tastings.
How many people can attend a tour?
There is a maximum of 16 people per tour and we require a minimum of four guests for a tour to commence. We can accommodate more guests on our Private Tours. Please contact us for further information.
Does this tour have anything to offer local Vancouverites?
Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in Vancouver. Locals often attend to learn about the history, new restaurants and unique eateries that they have yet to discover. We have lots of great reviews on Trip Advisor that attest to locals loving the tours.
Are gratuities included in the price?
Taste Vancouver Food Tour guides do appreciate gratuities. Our guides are enthusiastic and they work hard to insure you have an amazing experience. A standard gratuity for a professional tour guide in Vancouver is 15-20% of the tour price.
Can I shop on the tours?
We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour as all tours are on a time schedule. Starting and finishing points are always near the tour routes to make returning to any stores easy.
Can I get a ticket refund or reschedule my tour?
We can refund or reschedule your tour date with 24 hours advance notice
Are the walking tours given in bad weather?
Yes, all of our tours are held rain or shine. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather on the day of your tour.
Are tours offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time.
Are these tours children friendly?
Children are welcome on all our tours. Please bear in mind that some children may struggle to stay focused for the duration of a 2.5 hour tour. Tours are typically quite structured and focused meaning it may not be appropriate for all children. Please assess each situation individually. Strollers are not recommended due to the many narrow sidewalks, uneven cobblestone streets and certain staircases that we use when entering our food partner establishments. Children pay full price if they are eating.
May I bring my dog on the tour?
Due to the health regulations that govern the various food establishments we visit, pets of any kind are not allowed on our tours.
Are any of your walking tours wheelchair and/or stroller accessible?
Our Little Italy Food Tour and North Vancouver LoLo Tour are wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, our Gastown Food Tour cannot accommodate wheelchairs or strollers due to the many narrow sidewalks, uneven cobblestone streets and certain staircases that we use when entering food partner establishments.

If a tour does not meet the minimum required number of 4 tour guests, Taste Vancouver Food Tours reserves the right to cancel the tour and reschedule tour guests to another date or give a refund
